Introduction of saraswati puja

Introduction of saraswati puja

Saraswati Puja, also known as Vasant Panchami, is a Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom, knowledge, music, and arts. It is celebrated on the fifth day (Panchami) of the Hindu month of Magha, which typically falls in January or February.

On this day, devotees worship Goddess Saraswati, seeking her blessings for wisdom and learning. Schools, colleges, and educational institutions organize special prayers, and students place their books, pens, and musical instruments at the feet of the goddess as a mark of respect. The festival also marks the arrival of spring (Vasant) and is celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially in West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh.

People wear yellow attire, as it symbolizes energy and prosperity. Cultural programs, poetry recitations, and musical performances are also common. In some regions, kite flying is a major attraction. Saraswati Puja is not just a religious event but also a celebration of intellect, creativity, and knowledge.
